The Best Benefits for Today’s Workforce

Employee Benefits

What benefits are essential to finding and keeping top talent in today’s tight labor market? If you don’t find the right combination, you might lose existing employees and struggle with recruiting new ones. On September 22, we held a training session on this topic. In case you missed it, we want to highlight the key takeaways.

Did you know that the “magic number” of benefits you need to offer employees for them to be satisfied and feel cared for is 7? While this number likely includes health insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k), it can include a number of other benefits such as cancer policies and pet insurance. It is important to know your employees and communicate with them regularly so that you can provide benefits that are meaningful to them.

The best benefits aren’t just the traditional ones. Focusing on the holistic employee will set your organization apart from others and keep your employees satisfied and productive. If you haven’t been focusing on these items as essential, now is the time:

  • Career development and training
  • Purposeful work
  • Social and supportive cultures
  • Flexibility and work-life balance
  • Wellness programs and benefits

Employees are also feeling the strain of the economic slowdown and inflation. Offering financial planning, budget management training, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) can go a long way to helping your team in their personal lives. This will enhance loyalty and allow them to focus on work with fewer distractions on the job.
